PKL runs various events over the year for it’s staff, clients and candidates. Over the last quarter we have had some great events happening and thought we’d share with you some of our favourites.
Pink Ribbon Day, Melbourne
PKL Melbourne was well and truly in the pink spirit on October 26 th to celebrate Pink Ribbon Day.
Pink Ribbon Day aims to help raise awareness about breast cancer, as well as raise funds towards research, education and patient support programs.
Donning pink attire and ribbons, our consultants spent the day delivering pink ribbons and specially baked pink cupcakes to clients and candidates – much to their delight! To replenish their energy levels afterwards, staff enjoyed the scrumptious cupcakes too!
With proceeds from both the merchandise and 30c from each Michel's Patisserie cupcake donated, the PKL Melbourne team contributed approximately $80.
The loss of family and friends to this disease was close to staff's hearts and it was rewarding to be a part of such a great cause. Funds were raised for both the Cancer Council and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
PKL Melbourne looks forward to more fundraising events in the future!
Client Breakfast - Arj Barker
Arj Barker is, without a doubt, one of the most popular international comics working in Australia and PKL took some of our staff and clients to see him live at the Sydney Opera House. A good time was had by all.
Client Breakfast - Heather Swan
PKL were delighted to have the opportunity to hear Heather’s amazing story of passion, purpose and true grit exclusive to PKL. After an epic 22-day climb up a near-vertical Himalayan peak it took Heather just two minutes to "fly" back to base camp and smash the world record for the highest BASE jump in history.
Sydney parents Glenn Singleman and Heather Swan launched themselves off a 6604 metre high precipice on Meru Peak in northern India. The pair looked like tiny rocks as they hurtled down the perfectly-vertical eastern cliff face of Meru Peak, with their wing suits propelling them horizontally at speeds approaching 200kmh and 50kmh vertically. Their expedition was made up of six climbers and nine reporters, who endured minus 20 degree temperatures as they inched their way as little as 50 metres a day up 80-degree ice slopes.
Client Breakfast - Maximus - Motivating your Generation Finding it hard to know what motivates Gen Y? Want to know what makes the X’ers tick? With different generations employed today, the workplace has never been more diverse. This seminar looked at the issues raised by diversity, practical ideas on how to meet the expectations of the i-pod™ generation and ways to get each generation wanting to work for your business.
PKL invited Maximus’ qualified facilitator Anna Watson to share her commercial awareness and behavioural expertise in relation to a topical issue that is facing many Australian businesses today: A great informative breakfast – one not to miss next time!
PKL Staff Weekend Away Each year, the PKL team go away for an annual “Team Building Weekend”, this year we went to Bannisters in Mollymook. The weekend was a great success with PKL staff enjoying the five star accommodation and beautiful beach and pool settings. After being pampered in the day spa on Saturday morning, the staff set out to enjoy lunch and "PKL Survivor" at the beach in Mollymook. Hilarious all you can eat, three legged races and build your boss sandcastle competitions kept staff busy well into the afternoon.
Later that evening, after a beautiful meal and Phoebe's trivia contest the staff broke into groups for the annual "PKL Talent Quest". With performances from "Fame", "Grease", "Rocky Horror Show", "Priscilla" and "South Pacific" saw the team in stitches until the early hours of the Sunday morning.
